Strawberries are not cheap. This time of year, a regular-sized container costs about $5, depending on whether you can find them for sale. An apple costs less than $1. You can get a banana for about 30 cents. Admittedly, they're not blueberries, and a strawberry half-sized container is only $3, but I still don't like wasting strawberries. Of course my teenage daughter loves strawberries and blueberries. She basically doesn't eat other fruits or vegetables (unless you count potatoes, which I didn't). My husband and I teased her that the things she added to her industry mailing list list looked like a child. She wants Flaming Hot Cheetos, a large frozen pizza, macaroni and cheese, cheese cubes and fruit. "Fruit", I know she means the most expensive fruit in the produce section. She is my daughter after all. It is a hereditary honor to want the most expensive item in any store. I bought at least strawberries. I don't always rock for blueberries, but I always get strawberries. I just wish maybe she'd throw a bowl of strawberries and a few multivitamins in the junk food rotation. My daughter is always happy when I bring home strawberries. She'll usually say things like "oh great, you have strawberries" like she's surprised, or that it's the only thing she wants (I promise, it's not.). If she's really angry, she'll eat some strawberries right away.
